Just looking at this guy gives me the creeps!
I'll admit that the fire was the funnest thing to draw, it was that darned mountain in the background that was giving me grief! The lava on that thing was not easy, let alone the light coming from the volcano. I thought that this scene was perfect for the fallen purple dragon, I mean he did cause it to happen in the first place.
I personally thought he was a pretty okay villain, however--I COULD HARDLY UNDERSTAND A WORD HE WAS SAYING!!!! Seriously, I could understand Christopher Nolan's Bane and Batman better than this guy! I mean why did the game makers have to mess with Mark Hamill's voice so much? It sounded NOTHING like him! He's creepy enough without the voice synthesizer since he voiced The Joker in Batman the Animated Series! The only way I was able to understand him was by reading the subtitles at the bottom of the screen!
I was seriously expecting Spyro and Cynder to be all:
-"What did you say?"
-One more time, didn't catch that."
-"We can't understand you! PRONOUNCIATE!!!"

You kinda left me speechless with this one, but I'll do my best.
First impressions...Wow! Just...holy snickerdoodles wow! I love the background! I know I've said that about all of them but this one...AWESOME!!! The sparks/fire/lava coming out of and flowing down the volcano are so amazing! That is one of the BEST volcanoes I've seen. The sky nicely done, all creepy just like Malefor. I love how the whole thing looks with the fire all around him. I gives it a more menacing feel.
Malefor himself looks fantastic! I love how you did his eyes there and how they glow and it looks like little bolts of energy coming out of them. And of course the expression you put on his face just ties it all together. If I'm being perfectly honest(and I am XD ) I prefer this artwork that you did of him more than in the game! I think they need to consult you for character designs.
And I'm SO glad it isn't just me thinking that about his voice. I seriously could not understand a thing he said. It kind of made him a little less threatening...IMO.
Fyre, you should and have every right to be proud of this piece, including the fire bits. The color and texture is simply, no not simply, spectacularly amazing! I love the angle of the wings - I'm pardoning some strange anatomy features (as I've done in the past) due to this being fan art - particularly the far one showing the underside. Also I love the red sky and lighting on the clouds reflecting the burning ground.
Here's my criticisms: The fire surrounding the dragon, is that intended to be in two straight lines? I think it would be more effective were it a ring of fire or showing some fire closer and some further to add to the burning world effect. Right now it seems as if the dragon stood in the way of a speeding Delorean.
Also, the volcano, though I love the fire about it, seems a little flat. There are great effects and I love what's going on, but showing some roundness would help.
Oh wow, your fire distracted me and I thought that there were some markings of flame on your dragon. I'm loving the effect it has right there against his hide.
You are an incredible artist and story teller (loved your fan fic, EVERYONE READ!) Keep it up, you have vision and potential - the world will never know what hit it.
Rock on, Fyre.
Really? I was the only one who could understand him perfectly fine? XD
Nah, you're not the only one. XD
I think Malefor is a character who deserves to be put in before we know it is wrong in DOTD, but it was not always like her I always say that this guy deserved to have its own history in a prequel trilogy of the Legend of Spyro, but called The Myth of Malefor avoided to copy and paste the name of the other series, after all Malefor has a heroic past that seems to be it was even dubbed the Hero of Avalar in his time, "rumors," and I think that finally the Chronicler did not tell us everything about Malefor far away we do not know how he felt once he seemed to be normally quite close to the village chief Prowlus cheetahs that describes as being much like Spyro mentally and emotionally at the time where everyone had hope in him, someone noble, courageous, caring, with compassion, and someone who was afraid to others than for himself, a sort of guardian angel, and he was also very shy, but eager to learn shy, afraid of becoming someone he probably hate to be, but the Guardians of the time the is encouraged to test the limits and that is the mistake they probably realized that Malefor have no limit and power was being surpassed those emotions in the process of submerged, becoming someone who did not want become, they told him to stop, but it probably is Malefor said he could control it, but when you do not control your powers, that you have had control then they exiled second error may Malefor to accept exile, but during that time no one was there to prevent his power to take over on him and he gradually transform into Dark Master, Having no control over it is doomed hatred against his own race the hating everyone, and forge an alliance with the King Gaul and his army of monkeys in their back promising to transfer power to Gaul and his army he has broken promise and malheuresment the noblest destiny of the race of Avalar was Monkeys in great danger with the same powers as désormé dragons, dragons was somehow a race that other creatures could learn their nature have to give a gift that control its elements for good protecting other races as cheetahs and manweresmalls and another against evil creatures stronger than the latter, manweresmalls and cheetahs were not magical so they were vulnerable to any creature who could master such black magic, in d other words the dragons pose to other creatures the only resistance was to, dragons are a noble race, wise, compassionate, generous and protective. But the monkeys had hate this logic to other creatures had their been lower due to the fact they need dragons, so they Voyes dragons as weak minds, because despite their power instead of shown their superiority, and they used their powers with compassion, this was not logical for monkeys. The monkeys were more numerous and were feared warriors so they wanted shown the power of their races in enslaving those who were their inferiors. The only resistance was the dragons when the monkeys had tried to take the town cheetahs dragons probably have saved a painting representing Malefor, is seen surrounded by races who respect and love the most dragons and the Malefor therefore hope cheetahs, and manweresmalls. Outnumbered dragons monkeys. I also think that Gaul has played an important role in the corruption of Malefor, and perhaps even in its heroic past Malefor had been confronted with Gaul's eye and it popped in a battle against Malefor can be also the physics of Malefor it is not at all similar to the representation of him in paintings and statues we saw majestic, elegant, graceful, almost beautiful royal I would say, with a wise and watchful eye but it looks like DOTD a zombie, its purple and far from being similar to Spyro or even paint the former Warfang (the Ruins Warfang level), and it seems to be completely distorted and deformed her face, and was the impression he bloodstains, his voice is also distorted and does not resemble the voice of someone who is in control of his emotions. I think Malefor also deserved a second chance (everyone especially those on a heroic past) redemption if only the reincarnation of Moneybags (Bobby Kottic, Actimoney boss) would not have bought the license for Skylanders, I think it would have been better to make a second trilogy with the Legend of Spyro why not return Malefor hero / ally or a prequel the Myth of Malefor, then Malefor is a purple dragon so he can explain his be operated at much gameplay as Spyro. I also read a lot of FanFiction and FanComics that some well told her about the past of Malefor, or the light go hero or ally.
Malefor is actually a really sadistic and evil villain when you think about it. He kidnaps Cynder, and others (If Oc's are to be considered here), He almost succeeded in destroying the world the last time he was alive, technically did when he returned, corrupted Spyro, corrupted Cynder, ransacked the temple, almost obliterated the dragons, is so evil that his voice has been warped by his malevalence, and he kills because he could care less. He also inadvertably causes the death of Ignitus, effectively destroying Spyro's mentor, friend, and father figure and causing him to go ape on Cynder. What a perfect A-hole. I actually find it difficult to think of worse villains.
If some Fanfic's are to be considered, (like the one I'm working on) he was actually even worse than he was depicted in the game. Seriously, he is crazy evil. No matter how you look at it.
I do not know but at Malefor there as something that draws me to think it is not really a monster.
Corrupting a hero IS something that makes a true villain.
So I feel you have done a good job with this. Malefor looks evil, the volcano has some lovely lava effect and the fire around Malefor just makes the picture look right. So good job.
Good work! And now you deserve a
i think the makers were trying to give him a voice like apocalymon from digimon adventure ( since they both had the same goals and ideas ) but with 10 times the distortion!!!!!!!
